Instructor Bio

My career in the fitness and wellness industry began in 2007, when I started at a private gym, learning the ropes and advancing to management. By 2011, I had qualified as a personal trainer and transitioned into helping people to build strength, fitness, and confidence. Over time, I expanded into fitness education and assessment, working with organisations such as Discovery Learning, Origym, FIE and the University of South Wales (USW) to mentor and develop the next generation of fitness professionals.

Today, I’m a Fitness Manager in the leisure sector, where I lead community programmes and health projects, coordinate group exercise, manage gym operations, and support customer experience.

Alongside this, I run Move Well Pilates, where I help people build strength, mobility, and confidence through mindful movement.

✨ My Values
At the core of everything I do is a love for helping people and teaching. Whether it’s delivering a class, supporting someone one-to-one, or guiding future fitness professionals, I believe exercise has the power to change lives. For me, the most rewarding part is knowing I’ve made a difference to someone’s day, improving their health, building their confidence, and helping them move towards a longer, healthier life.

When I’m not teaching or working, you’ll usually find me outdoors or walking my beagle Sandy! Over the last year I’ve taken up CrossFit, it’s been hugely humbling and challenging, and I continue to learn every session, whether it’s mastering a new move or digging deep with pure grit. That same mindset of growth and progress is a relatable ethos to Pilates: it’s about making steady improvements, building resilience, and learning what your body is truly capable of.

I began learning and teaching Pilates because I’ve come to appreciate that training isn’t always about going harder, it’s about training smarter. Since my late 30's, I’ve realised the importance of building core stability, balance, and recovery into my own routine. Pilates has given me a way to stay strong, manage injuries, and keep moving well for the long term — and that’s what I aim to share in my classes.
